    Very Good
This was excellent ...i omitted the potato and used turkey smoked sausage instead of ham. I added 4 cups of additional water as it was cooking to thin it out more. - 2/20/11

As for the bitterness, you may add a few dashes of red wine vinegar to your serving bowl or more to the crock pot at the end of cooking. This is actually from a Greek lentil soup recipe. - 1/30/11

Yummy, and filling. (I did not do the ham, potato, and barley, I was also out of cumin so I added garlic) - 10/26/10

I made a double batch. I don't understand why it tastes bitter. Is there something I can add? - 9/7/10
