Ingredients

    1 cup white flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 tsp salt
    4 1/2 tsp yeast (2 packets)
1 cup milk, heated to 120 degrees
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1 1/2 cups white flour
    Pan spray
    1 Tbsp butter, melted
    2 Tbsp. Sugar
    1 Tbsp Cinnamon
    1 cup powdered sugar
    1 Tbsp milk
    2 oz non-fat cream cheese

Directions

Put first 5 ingredients into a ziploc bag or mixing bowl, mix thoroughly.

Add milk, egg, 1/4 cup melted butter and stir until all ingredients are incorporated.

Add the extra white flour 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly, and stop as soon as dough holds together well.

Knead for 5-7 minutes on a lightly floured surface, then put in an oiled bowl (turning to coat) and let rest for an hour and a half, covered lightly. Allow to double.

pat dough out into a 12X15 rectangle, spread with melted butter and top with cinnamon sugar mix. Roll dough up and seal at bottom seam. Cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces and bake cut side up in a greased pan for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

While rolls are baking, mix 2 oz cream cheese with 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 Tbsp milk to make icing. Let cinnamon rolls cool for 10 minutes before icing.

(Rolling the dough from the short end will yield 9 3-inch rolls, which is how the servings were calculated. Rolling from the long end will yield more rolls which in turn will have fewer calories, but may be skimpy on icing.)
