Ingredients

    1 bag cranberries
1 nub of ginger root ( 2 in long) peeled and diced
1 orange cut in half (or 1/4 cup orange juice)
    1 apple diced
    1 cup of water
    1/2 cup sugar

Tips

The kids can help with this dish they love to stir. Be careful the cranberries will start popping and can splatter.

Directions

Pour 1 cup of water into a medium pot place on medium heat. When it comes to a boil add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add diced ginger (the bigger the dice the more the bite) let the ginger cook for 2 minutes. Then add the diced apple let cook 2 more minutes stirring slowly but constantly. Next add cranberries and squeeze the orange juice into the pot. Cook until all the cranberries have popped about two more minutes. You can serve warm or cold.
