Introduction

Ingredients

    ½ c all purpose flour
    ½ c whole wheat flour
    ½ tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
    ½ tsp baking soda
    3 tbsp brown sugar
    2 tbsp butter
    2 tbsp applesauce
    1 egg
    ¼ c buttermilk
    ***
    2 cups peeled sliced cooking apples
    1 cup sliced plums
    1 cup sliced, peeled peaches
    2 tbsp white sugar
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    ¼ tsp ground cloves
    2 tbsp butter, melted.

Directions

Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Combine applesauce, egg and buttermilk, add to above.
Mix together but do not beat!
Spread into a greased 9” x 13” pan.
Arrange fruit, overlapping, on top.
Combine sugar, cinnamon and cloves, sprinkle on top.
Pour butter evenly over all this.
Bake at 400F for 35 mins or until fruit is tender.
