Introduction
This is a variation of Coach Deans Blue Oatmeal. I've found that this combination of sugar and blueberries yields a sweeter oatmeal, which I love :-) This is a variation of Coach Deans Blue Oatmeal. Ingredients
-
1/2 c. whole wheat old-fashioned oatmeal
4 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. white sugar (you can also use splenda)
1/4 c. frozen blueberries
1/4 c. boiling hot water (I usually boil 1 or 2 cups at a time and then add to my taste to the oatmeal)
Tips
If you add too many blueberries, they won't thaw when you add the water. Add a small amount at first, then add the boiling water, and check them to make sure they've thawed.
Directions
Boil about 2 cups of water, either in a teapot, cooking in the microwave, or in a saucepan on the stovetop. While it's boiling, combine oatmeal, brown sugar and white sugar in a bowl. Add 1/2 the amount of blueberries on top.
When the water is done boiling, pour it slowly over your oatmeal mixture and stir. You don't want to add too much water, or your breakfast will be very watery and gross. You want a thick consistency.
Serving Size: Makes enough oatmeal for one person
