Introduction

A yummy alternative to the usual mayo infused tuna salad A yummy alternative to the usual mayo infused tuna salad
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

1 (6oz) can Tuna - chunk light in water
1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
1/8 cup pitted Kalamata olives, finely chopped
    1/2 celery rib, finely chopped
1 Tbsp red onion, finely chopped
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
    1/8 tsp salt
    pinch of black pepper

Directions

The original recipe calls for Italian Tuna packed in oil. I substituted water packed tuna to cut down on calories and fat. You loose a little of the taste but I've found that throwing in a bit of dried italian spices makes up for this.

In a medium bowl mix together all ingredients. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Can be eaten on crackers, as a sandwich filler, or plain (that's how I usually enjoy it).
