Introduction
For the carb and fat conscious, this is a simple yet very tasty recipe I've come up with. Low in carbs considering the size of each skewer/serving. Also very high in protein so an added bonus if you're bodybuilding. For the carb and fat conscious, this is a simple yet very tasty recipe I've come up with. Ingredients
-
500g Extra Lean Turkey Breast Mince
1 Egg
1 Onion (Red or White) finely chopped
2 Sprigs Rosemary finely chopped
25g Plain/Wholemeal Flour
1tsp Cornflour
2tsp Garlic (crushed)
1tsp Green Chilli (crushed)
2tbsp Shan Seekh Kebab Mix (omit if not available, should taste good without this!)
1tbsp Coriander (fresh if available)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1tbsp Honey (optional)
Tips
If you require a dip to go with this, simply get some yogurt, add a generous helping of mint to it (dry flakes are suitable too). Also grate some cucumber into this and you've got a perfect healthy lean dish!
Directions
1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly, ensuring everything is mixed together.
2. Preheat oven to 200c/400f.
3. In an oven tray, line with baking paper and shape meat into long kebab like shape as you would get skewered. Create 4 or more of these on the tray.
4. If you want it on a skewer, once meat is shaped on the tray, gently push skewers (I used metal ones) through the center and reshape the top of each kebab so that the skewer is sufficiently embedded into the center of the kebab.
4. Place tray in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
5. Once cooked remove tray from oven. If you want to add a little bit of sweetness and want that glazed look, cover all the kebabs with the 1tbsp of honey, grill in the oven until they look ready.
6. Enjoy! I had these with a few lettuce leaves, tomatoes, cucumber slices.
