lighter version of apple pie with easy crust recipe lighter version of apple pie with easy crust recipeNumber of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
Filling
2 golden delicious apples sliced and sprinkled with lemon
2 tbsp of sugar
1 tbsp margarine
Crust
1- 1/3 C flour
1/3 C margarine
1 oz water added a little at a time
1 tsp sugar
dash of salt
cooking spray
Tips
I used remaining dough to cut out hearts with a cookie cutter for this recipe. You can substitute canola oil for margarine in the crust recipe for a few more calories and a crispier crust, you can also substitute sweetener for the sugar to fit your needs.
Directions
Crust
in a bowl mix dry ingredients add 1/3 c of margarine and mix well till flour is moistened then add a little water at a time till dough makes a ball. spray pie pan a little bit to avoid sticking if using margarine ( not needed if using oil for the crust). press the crust into an 8 in pie plate. fill with sliced apples sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, dot but a little margarine and bake in preheated 375 oven for glass pan 350 for metal approximate baking time is 30 mins depending on oven.
Serving Size: Makes 1 eight in pie cut to serve six
Number of Servings: 6
