Ingredients
-
SAUCE
I can tomato soup (420gms)
1 can crushed tomatoes (425gm)
1 cup water
1 teaspoon oregano
2 tsp beef stock powder
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
MEATBALLS
500gms lean minced beef
1/2 cup raw long grain rice
1 egg
1 teaspoon beef stock powder
Tips
The recipe says you can substitute other minced meat for the meatballs, such as chicken or veal. I would change the stock powder to chicken stock powder if I used chicken mince.
Directions
Preheat oven to 190C
In a large covered casserole dish, mix together all the ingredients for the sauce.
In a medium sized bowl, mix the meatball ingredients together with your hands.
Form into 12 round meatballs and drop into the sauce.
Cover the casserole dish and place in the heated oven for 1 hour.
Serve with steamed broccoli, brussel sprouts and carrots.
Serving Size: Makes 4 servings
