For white gravy: Add black pepper and salt
For sausage gravy: add black pepper and cooked sausage crumbles
The possibilities are endless!
Directions
Heat milk in microwave on high for 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt butter in sauce pan on medium-high heat.
Have milk ready before proceeding to next step.
Next, whisk flour into butter and cook on high for 2 minutes until bubbly, but do not let it brown. If mixture is gummy, stir in just enough milk to make it smooth, then continue to cook until bubbly, stirring constantly.
Slowly stir in warmed milk and cook on medium high, stirring constantly, until sauce has thickened.
