Introduction
This is a regular request by my family, I only make it during the winter or on cool days, since it takes so long to cook. Since it is calorie dense, I only serve veggies with it. Ingredients
-
2 lbs hamburger, the leaner the better
2 cups old fashioned oatmeal
2 tbsp onion flakes
2 eggs
1 can tomato soup
1/2 cup brown sugar
Tips
If it seems a bit dry when mixing, you can add another egg.
Directions
Combine all ingredients except for the soup and sugar. After you have the meat mixture mixed well, shape into a loaf, and put into a loaf pan.
Then combine soup and sugar, mix well with fork until there are so sugar clumps.
Then make little holes along the top of the meatloaf, and pour the soup mixture over the top, making sure to cover the whole loaf.
Cover with tinfoil, and bake for one hour at 350, then bake for the second hour at 400. Cook uncovered for 10 more minutes.
Make sure to check that it's done. When done, let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
