Ingredients

    1 Lb. Dry Split Peas
    3 Quarts Water
    1 Cup Ham Cubes
    1.5 Cup Raw Onion
    1.5 Cup Finely Chopped Carrots
    1 Cup Celery
    1/2 tsp Dry Oregano
    1/4 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
    1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic
    6 Tbsp Ham Base

Tips

Electric stoves/Radient Stovetops cook slower on this recipe. Stir often to prevent scorching.


Directions

Combine ingredients in large pot. Bring contents to boil. Lower to simmer and cook 3 to 3.5 hours until a just thickened. Can be blended to make for a smoother texture.
