Introduction

I have no idea how long this recipe's been around but so many people have made it I figured I'd give it a shot - with less added sugar than "normal" and Hot Tamales candy instead of cinnamon hearts, which I couldn't find! I have no idea how long this recipe's been around but so many people have made it I figured I'd give it a shot - with less added sugar than "normal" and Hot Tamales candy instead of cinnamon hearts, which I couldn't find!
Number of Servings: 80

Ingredients

    4 cups unsweetened apple juice
    2/3 cup Hot Tamale candies
    2 1/2 cups sugar
    1 (1 3/4 ounce) package no-sugar-needed pectin

Directions

Bring juice, candies and sugar to a boil in a saucepan and simmer 10 minutes, until candy mostly dissolves. Strain out remaining candy and return mixture to pot.
Whisk in pectin, return to a full boil and cook, stirring constantly, 3 minutes.
Process for 5 minutes in boiling water bath.

Serving Size: Makes about 5 half pints, 80 tbsp
