Ingredients

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup (flavored) breadcrumbs
1 large potato (shredded)
1 large red onion (chopped)
¾ cups walnuts (chopped) or pecan
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp sage (heaping)
1 tsp garlic powder (or garlic crystals)
3-4 raw eggs --- whipped lightly with a fork
2 tbsp Tamari Sauce (or Soy sauce)
4 tbsp Olive Oil
Tips
Can add shredded sweet potato, shredded zucchini squash, shredded carrot. Any vegetable you like actually and adjust the amount of egg and spices to your liking. Additional veggies not included in the nutritional calculation.
Directions
Mix all the dry ingredients together …
Then add lightly whipped eggs to moisten all the dry ingredients.
Add Tamari (Soy) Sauce and Olive Oil at the end.
Form into balls (with wet hands) and then into patties (wet hands with water or with olive oil) and fry in moderately hot fry pan (covered to make sure it all cooks inside) for at least 3-5 minutes each side.
Makes 12-15 veggie burgers (depending on how large you make the patties)… serve with or without melted cheese on top. Store leftovers in individual freezer bags in the freezer and re-heat in the microwave or conventional oven.
