Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

3 cups cooked long grain rice (1 cup uncooked rice cooked in 2 cups of vegetable broth, 1 T soy sauce)
    1 lb lean ground beef
    2T olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 medium to large head of cabbage, shredded
    2 cups julienned carrots
    2 t Tony Chacher's seasoning
    1 t Montreal Steak seasoning
    1/2 t basil
1t onion powder (could use 1C chopped onions instead)
    2 T soy sauce
(I'm guessing at the spice amounts- add whatever spices are your favorites!)

Tips

This would probably also be good with uncooked Ramen noodles that have been stir-fried in a little olive oil to brown and then added in place of rice.

Directions

cook rice using 1 cup rice to 2 cups vegetable broth, 1T soy sauce.

Using a deep pan, brown ground beef, draining all the fat away. Rinsing with hot water will remove more of the fat. Set aside to add back in later.

Using 1T of olive oil, cook garlic and carrots for 2 minutes (add fresh onions if using them.)

Add the remaining 1T of olive oil and cabbage and cook for 2 minutes.

Add remaining 1C vegetable broth, browned burger, soy sauce, and spices and cook for several minutes.

Add rice, mix together, and cover to warm through.

May cook additional time if your taste requires veggies to be done more.

We ate this with a salad or foccacia bread
