    1 pkg of dry split peas (450grams)
    6 cups of chicken broth or veggie broth, sodium reduced
    4-5 cups of water (depending on how thick or thin you like your soup)
    2 medium carrots or a handful of baby carrots
    1 medium Onion chopped
    1 300g of frozen spinach
    1-3 garlic cloves
    1 tbs oregano
    1 tea pepper
    1/2 tea cumin powder, not the seeds


Combine Split peas and chicken broth or veggie broth. Bring to a boil, reduce head and put on lid, let simmer for 1 1/2 hrs.
Cut up your onion and carrots, defrost spinach, combine all the spices and add to split pea mixture. Add more water if desired. I find it gets pretty thick.

You can also freeze this recipe, serves 8-10 people
