Introduction
These delicious little tarts really pack a punch. They're great as a whole meal, or as an appetizer. They really caused a stir at my latest party! They're quick and easy to make, and once made, they're easy to freeze for lunches! These delicious little tarts really pack a punch. They're great as a whole meal, or as an appetizer. Ingredients
-
1 pkg REDUCED FAT Wal-mart brand Crescent Rolls
Part skim mozzarella cheese
Hormel Turkey Pepperoni
Bertolli Olive Oil & Garlic Spaghetti Sauce (or any other kind you like or prefer)
Italian Seasonings.
* Any additional ingredients, such as:
Chicken Italian Sausage
Black Olives
Green Peppers
Extra Lean Hamburger Meat
etc ...
Just make sure you adjust for the calories!!!
Okay, you'll also need a muffin pan.
Directions
Start by greasing the muffin pan with the olive oil. I have a MISTO so I just spray 'em. Preheat the oven to 350°.
Next, open your package of Crescent rolls. Use one triangle for each muffin hole. Press the triangle up against the bottom & sides to form a little cup (this takes a little practice haha). When you've filled all of the holes, place the pan in the oven and cook until the lil' crescent cups have fluffed up and lightly browned (takes about 7ish minutes or so). Remove from the oven.
Now, using a spoon, press the risen crescent rolls back up against the sides and bottom of the muffin cup so you have a little cup again. Try to be careful not to have holes in the bottom.
Now that they're cups again, we're ready to fill 'em!
I like to take one pepperoni & some cheese and place it in the bottom so that the sauce doesn't make the bottom soggy. Then spoon in your spaghetti sauce and add the other three pepperonis (you can also add whatever other ingredients you may have chosen to add -- make sure you 1.) pre-cook meats like hamburger or sausage and 2.) you adjust the nutritional values!). Cover the top of each with the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle a little italian seasoning on top of each one for an extra kick. Put 'em back in the oven until the top is nice and melted and lightly browned.
Serve 'em up & enjoy -- but let them cool, 'cause they're hot!
One package of Crescent Rolls makes 8 tarts; nutritional values are for one tart.
