Introduction
Similar to a Bun but Low Carb Similar to a Bun but Low CarbNumber of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
3 serving Eggs, fresh (raw) Large
3 oz Aldi's Happy Farms Cream Cheese (Do Not Soften)
.125 tsp Cream Of Tartar (1/8 tsp.)
Directions
Preheat oven to 300F degrees.
You may want to use a mixer for this recipe.
Separate the egg whites from the yolks & place in 2 separate bowls.
If using the same bowl, whip egg whites & Cream of Tartar first until stiff.
Mix the egg yolks and cream cheese.
Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the whites mixture onto a cookie sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.
Bake about 30 minutes. You will want them slightly softer, not crumbly. Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes & then remove to a rack and allow them to cool.
Store in a loosely open sack and allow to rest on the counter before use (otherwise, they may be too moist).
Can be frozen
NOTES:
If you are making these to be savory (for burgers) you can add dry mustard, dill, or other seasonings to the yolk mixture. If you want a more sweet roll, add a very small amount of stevia or splenda to the yolk mixture.
