Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

4 serving Sausage, Smoked Andouille Chicken Sausage Trader Joe's YUM
3 serving Chicken-Perdue Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, 4oz
4 serving Average Roma Tomato (by RUCGIEB)
    3 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" lon Celery, raw
2 serving 1 Med. Green Bell Pepper
    5 clove Garlic
    2 cup slices Okra
    2 tsp Thyme, ground
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
1 tsp Pepper, red or cayenne
6 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth
    3 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
3.5 tsp Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning

Tips

Original recipe calls for 1 tsp salt and 1 cup oil; I did not find that it needed either.

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large pot - 3 whole bay leaves (did not have that option when adding ingredients). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer 4-6 hours. Return to a boil. Mix 3 Tbs cornstarch with one-quarter cup water and stir in to boiling gumbo. Continue stirring until broth thickens.

Serve plain or with a scoop of rice on top.
