Introduction

Ingredients

    5 serving yellow peas, lars own gula artor for swedish style yellow pea soup, dry
    1 cup, chopped Carrots, raw
    1 cup, diced Celery, raw
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    1 tbsp Butter, salted
    3 cup Vegetable Broth
    5 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    2 serving Ham Hock (by MSNIKKERBOKKER)

Tips

Can use greeen or yellow peas. Dried peas. Ham hocks or ham bone.


Directions

Soak whole yellow peas over night then drain and rinse. If useing spilt peas no need to soak over night.
finely chop all vegtables. In large soup pot. melt butter and cook onion on medium heat until translucent. add carrots, celery and cook just a couple minutes. Add broth and water and ham hocks (or I will use a left over ham bone) and peas. Bring to boil then reduce heat to med/low and cook 2-3 hours stiring every 15-20 minutes. I serve with warm corn bread..(not included in Nutrition calculation)
