Introduction
This high-protein mix is a stripped-down version of this recipe: https://www.budget101.com/content.php/1305-Cranberry-almond-cereal-mix I make in in bulk, and vacuum-pack it. It's perfect overnight in a crockpot. Better yet, it doesn't crash my blood sugar like regular oatmeal. Ingredients
-
1 cup Barley, pearled, raw
1 cup Bulgur (Cracked Wheat) Dry (by JAZZDIVA1)
.5 cup Diamond Sliced Almond
90 gram(s) Oatmeal, uncooked, Quaker Old Fashioned Rolled Oats, .5 cup dry
Directions
You could cook this on the stovetop, but it would probably need extra time because of the barley and bulgur wheat. This recipe is enough for a family or a longer supply so I prefer to leave a few spoonfuls of it overnight in a crockpot with 2x the water.
Serve with your favorite toppings. My personal choice is soy milk, brown sugar, and the occasional banana. Butter and seasoned salt is also good.
