Introduction

This is a simple dish good anytime. My mother made it for the holidays. This is a simple dish good anytime. My mother made it for the holidays.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 med head of cabbage
    20 unsalted Saltine crackers(crushed)
    6 tbsp margarine(70% vegetable oil)
    1 cup 2% milk

Directions

Cut cabbage leaves from core,wash, and place in pot of boiling water until tender. Remove from pot and place in bowl.Place half the cabbage in bottom of a 9 by 9 baking dish. Spread half the crushed crackers on top of the cabbage and take half of the margarine and dot in various spaces on the crackers. Sprinkle half the pepper on layers, then repeat process with other half of the ingredients. Pour the cup of milk over the entire layers(soaking the crackers on top). Place in oven at (325 degrees) and bake for 25 to 30 mins. Milk should be bubbly and top browned a little. Remove from oven at let stand for 10 mins. Serves 8 aprrox one half cups. Enjoy!
