Ingredients

1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 14.5 oz can of chili style diced tomatoes
1/2 lb of lean ground meat, browned
1 can of black beans, drained
1/2 of a large onion, chopped
1/2 of a bell pepper, chopped
    1 tbsp of chili powder
    1 tsp of cumin
    1/2 tsp of paprika
    1/4 tsp of garlic powder

Directions

First, place the meat in a pan and brown it, make sure to season with salt and pepper, and additional spices if desired.

In the mean time, chop up the vegetables. Saute the veggies in a pan until softened.

Place all ingredients in the crock pot and mix thoroughly. Put the crock pot on low and cook for a minimum of 4 hours, 6 or more hours is ideal.

I serve it with corn bread, low-fat sour cream, low-fat cheddar cheese, and chopped fresh onion .

Serves 4-5.

    Very Good
This recipe was very good. I improvised by adding some sweet white corn and a can of tomato paste which thickened it up some. Very tasty recipe! - 2/24/09
