Introduction
A delicious chocolate, peanut butter, and oatmeal treat always popular at a party. NOT a diet food. This recipe with it's accompanying directions produces a smoother end product than others I have tried as the sugar is allowed to dissolve properly and does not retain a "grainy" texture A delicious chocolate, peanut butter, and oatmeal treat always popular at a party. Ingredients
-
2 C Sugar
1/2 C Milk
Stick of butter
1/2 C Peanut butter
6 T Cocoa
1 t Vanilla extract
3 C Dry/uncooked Old Fashioned Quaker Oatmeal (Plain)
Pinch of Salt
Tips
-Pre-mix the separate parts of the recipe prior to heating for optimal results.
-Stir hot portion into dry mix thoroughly but quickly once it has boiled the requisite time
-Spoon out complete mixture as soon as it is mixed well so that it doesn’t cool in the bowl and become difficult to make into individual cookies
Directions
Mix 1/2 cup of Peanut Butter, 6 tablespoons of Cocoa, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract, 3 cups of oatmeal (dry, uncooked, plain, old-fashioned), and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl (bowl needs to be fairly heat resistant as it will have sudden exposure to boiling liquid). Mix 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, and and one stick of butter in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Let mixture boil for one and a half minutes, stirring it frequently, then blend into oatmeal mixture. Scoop mixture onto wax paper and allow to cool.
