Ingredients
-
½ Pint Jar:
2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
5 teaspoons Paprika
4 ½ teaspoons Cumin
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Kosher Sea Salt
2 ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon Cayenne
Directions
MEXICAN SEASONING MIX:
(low carb, no preservatives, low-cost, no MSG)
Buy taco seasoning packages at the store? No more! Try this and you will love it and not go back. Our 99-Cent shop carries all of the spices needed so I’ve found I can make a big batch quickly at home the equivalent of a lot of those little spice packages that cost anywhere from a $1.00 or 2 each for F A R less without all the added junk I don’t want, health wise.
Mix and store in a jar. To use: Brown 1 pound of ground meat (ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken all work well or you can use this to season beans too). When the meat is no longer pink, then drain the grease. Add approximately four teaspoons full of taco/Mexican seasoning mix per pound of ground meat. This is approximately 3 net carbs and costs a few pennies for the seasoning mix used.
By contrast, Taco Bell taco seasoning mix has 18 carbs per mix and Old el Paso brand has 30 per package!
