Introduction
I found the stroganoff recipe in some magazine and tweeked it a bit. Our family LOVES IT! It's very filling and pretty tasty with a side of green beans. Ingredients
-
-1 lb lean ground beef
-2/3 c chopped onion
-1 clove (1/2 t) minced garlic
-1-2 cans (4.5 oz) drained mushrooms, which will amout to about 1 c (I used only 3/4 since I had some leftovers in the fridge already)
-1 c water
-1 t paprika
-1 t dried parsley
-1/4 t salt
-1/4 t black pepper
-2 t worcestershire sauce
-2 c rumbamel's delicious brown rice (rice cooked in chicken broth)
-1 c low fat shredded sharp cheese like kraft 2% ( I used 2% mexican 4 cheese this time since it's all I had defrosted)
-1/2 c daisy lite sour cream
Directions
Brown the ground beef, drain and set aside. Add the onions and garlic and saute for about 5 minutes until soft on low to med. heat stirring often.
Add the ground beef and the next 8 ingredients (mushrooms to worcestershire sauce). Stir well. Bring to a boil then reduce to med/low simmer for 15 minutes w/out stirring.
Turn heat to low and add the sour cream, rice and cheese. Stir until warmed.
Makes about 5 servings of 1 c each.
