PIE for dumplings has to be elastic. It is good to play a while with it while making (burning calories trust me)
so:
2 glasses of flour
1 TBS of cooking oil
1 egg
1/2 glass of warm water (you can add slightly more if needed)
basic stuffing
1 glass of lentils (can be mixed, green/brown lentils has to be left in water over the night before cooking)
500 ml water
1 stock cube
1/2 tbls chilli powder
1/2 tbls curry powder
120 gr butter
2 cloves of garlic (you can add more)
additional ingredients
raisins
sunflower seeds
pumpkin seeds
sesame seeds
dry peach..
anything you feel like it, but do not exaggerate :)
Directions
stuffing
1.boil water with stock cube, add lentils and leave it on medium heat for boiling. lentils should soak all water and get soft
2. fry butter on frying pan, adding chilli powder, curry powder, and choped garlic -DO NOT BOIL/FRY too long
3. add it to lentils and mix
4. leave lentils to cool down
Pastry:
connect all ingredients together and make smooth, elastic pie.(you can hit it with fists, with roll-pin..anything you like)
1. roll pastry thin (around 5 mm)
2.take a glass or something that can cut big enough circles out of pie.
Pour water in a BIG pot, add little bit of salt, and boil.
3.take circle of pastry in your hand, place on the middle around 1 tea spoon of stuffing.
4. join pastry sides (little water on sides can help to stick it together) and press the endings with fork to stick them up better
5.put into the boiling water, boil for about 6-8 minutes
6. take out, pour tiny bit of oil on them sprinkle with sunflower seeds
