    5 c. water
    3 c. chopped onion
    6 oz. diced lean ham
    1 c. diced carrot
    1 tsp. dried rosemary, crushed (fresh if you've got it)
    3/4 tsp. sage
    1 lb. dried lentils
    1 can chicken broth
    4 cloves garlic, diced
    1 bay leaf

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker-- cook on high 3 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours.
