Introduction

I made mine with Smucker's low sugar orange marmalade, but any kind of low sugar fruit preserves will work.

You can also use sugar free preserves but be sure to recalculate the calories for accuracy.

Ingredients

1 ready-to-bake pie crust, room temperature
    low sugar preserves (any flavor)
1 Tbsp or pat butter, melted

Optional: Fresh fruit or citrus zest for garnish

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit.

Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

Cut pie crust into 8 pieces. (Most will be rectangular)

Brush pastry dough lightly with butter, drop 1 tsp. preserves onto dough, and fold into a square, pressing the edges together tightly.

TIP: FOR TRIANGULAR SHAPED PIECES, FOLD CORNER TO OPPOSITE EDGE, THEN FOLD REMAINING CORNER OVER SO IT FORMS A SQUARE AND THE PRESERVES ARE ENCASED.

Place on cookie sheet and lightly brush tops with butter. (you do NOT want butter dripping off the dough)

Bake for 15 minutes.

Garnish Options: citrus zest such as orange or lemon, fresh fruit, fat free Cool Whip, ice cream, flavored syrups.
