Introduction

My mamma's staples. This is like the kitchen sink recipe that covers a lot of veggies I don't eat a whole lot of. And its yummy. This is a great dish to just heat up for lunches! My mamma's staples. This is like the kitchen sink recipe that covers a lot of veggies I don't eat a whole lot of. And its yummy. This is a great dish to just heat up for lunches!

Ingredients

    1 lb ground beef
    1 chopped onion
    1 chopped bell pepper, any color
    1/2 c chopped celery
    1/2 c chopped carrot
    1 chopped potato
    2 c cooked macaroni
    1/2 tbsp basil flakes
    1 can chopped tomatoes
    1 can tomato sauce (more if you like it a bit more saucy)
    salt and pepper to taste
    Cheddar cheese (if desired)

Directions

Chop veggies. Brown the ground beef and veggies and pour away the grease. Add tomatoes and sauce. Stir. Take off heat and toss into a large bowl. Place in a baking dish and top with cheese if desired. Bake for 20 min at 350 degrees covered. Enjoy!

    I'm a Magyar(Hungarian). I live in Hungary and to be honest this dish is not goulash. It sounds nice, but goulash is a soup! I'm going to share the authentic recipe soon!

    Very Good
    Good and hearty dinner fare, however, since I have gout I will use ground turkey and serve moe than one person. Great! - 8/4/09
