Ingredients

4 pears- peeled, cored, and sliced into 1/2" slices
1/4 c. maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1T lemon juice
Ready to bake pie crust
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. walnuts
3 T corn starch
Directions
Preheat oven to 450.
Grease a 9" pie plate and put in crust
Combine pears, vanilla, lemon juice, and syrup in a bowl
In a different bowl, combine sugar, starch, and nuts
Combine both bowls and pour into pie crust.
Put pie on a baking sheet and bake for 15 min at 450.
Lower heat to 350 and bake for 30 min.
Cool for 30 on a cooling rack.
Serve warm or at room temperature.

Wow! Maple, Walnuts, and Pears cooked into a pie! I was very good. I made the recipe exactly as printed except I used sugar free maple syrup. Next time I might even use Splenda Brown Sugar to further cut calories. The flavor combination was great! To cut carbs I might leave off the crust too. YUM! - 10/25/16
