Ingredients

    Beef Stew Meat, 1 lb., cubed
    Potato, raw, 4 medium, cubed
    Tomato Sauce, 1 cup
    Red Wine, 1/2 cup
    Cabbage, fresh, 1 head, medium, chopped into large pieces
    Beef broth, 4 cup
    Onions, raw, 1 medium, diced
    Pickling Spice, 1 tbsp
    2 bay leaves
    fresh mint for garnish.

Directions

In a large, heavy pot, brown the stew meat. Add water to cover, plus the broth. Add a spice ball or cheese cloth pouch filled with the pickling spice and bay leaves, and the wine. Simmer until the beef is tender. Add the potatoes, tomato sauce, onions and cabbage. ook until vegetables are tender. Garnish with fresh mint and serve with a crusty bread.
