Ingredients
-
3 slices whole grain bread that is 50 cals or under. I use Sara Lee "delightful" whole grain, but I have also used weight watchers whole wheat too. If you use a higher cal bread you need to re calibrate...and most likely- only use 2 slices.
.5 cup egg substitute
.25 cup skim milk
1 Tbls ground cinnamon
1.5 Tbls Splenda
.25 cup no sugar syrup(may find it in the diabetic section rather than with the normal syrups. Needs to be under 40 cal per quarter cup.
non stick spray
Directions
Toast bread until golden on both sides
Meanwhile- in a flat bottom shallow bowl large enough for a slice of bread to lay flat on bottom( I use a pasta serving bowl) Mix egg beaters, milk, cinnamon, and splenda.
Heat a large non stick pan over med.
WHen toast is done dip each slice in egg mix on both sides and put in non stick pan coated with Pam. Flip after 30 seconds. I you have any leftover egg mix. Spoon it 1 Tbls at a time over each piece of toast. and flip again. For 3 pieces I usually have to flip at least twice on each side.
When done put on plate and pour syrup over,
*** also very good with berries or sliced peaches, mango or banana!
