Introduction

I haven't baked it this way yet, but will let you know when my starter is ready and I bake this, I'm hoping that this will be as good, it is about 70 calories lighter and half the fat.

Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    1 cup Amish Friendship Bread starter
    2 eggs plus
    2 egg whites
    1/2 cup canola oil plus
    1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
    1/2 cup skim milk
    1 cup sugar
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1.5 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 cup flour plus
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 large box instant sugar free fat free vanilla pudding mix

    for the topping:
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Combine all except the final 2 ingredients. Combine the 1/3 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon in a separate bowl.

Spray 2 loaf pans with non-stick spray, dust with 1 tablespoon each of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Pour batter evenly into the pans and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over top.

Bake 1 hour @ 325 degrees. Cool until bread loosens from the pan (10 minutes) serve warm or cold.

Makes 2 loaves, about 10 slices each
