Introduction

Ingredients

* Paprika, .5 tsp
* Salt, .5 tsp
* Pepper, black, .125 tsp
* Beef chuck, 2.5 lb
* Olive Oil, 1.5 tbsp
* Onion 1 large, chopped fine
* Turnips, 1 cup, cubes
* Mushrooms, fresh, 8 medium
* Beef broth, bouillon, consomme, 2 cup
* Tomato Paste, 0.25 cup
* Soy Sauce, 1 tbsp
* Red Wine Vinegar, 1 tbsp
* Splenda, .5 tsp
* Cloves, ground, .125 tsp
* Bay Leaf, 1 small
* Parsley, 2 sprigs
*Nuts, macadamia nuts, dry roasted, .5 cup, ground
Directions
1)Chop turnips. Place on bottom of slow cooker.
2) In bowl or zippered bag, combine nut meal and ground seasonings except clove. Toss in beef to coat, shaking off excess, and transfer to plate. Repeat until all beef is coated.
3) Heat 1 Tbsp oil in large skillet over med-high heat. Brown meat, on all sides, then transfer to slow cooker. Note: do not crowd skillet.
4) Add onions, Mushrooms. Stir gently, do not disturb turnips on bottom.
5) In bowl, mix liquid ingredients, tomato paste, sugar and cloves. Add to cooker w/parsley and bay leaf. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
6) discard parsley and bay.
