I got this idea will sitting in our den in warm wether and my sister would not share one thing of plain yogert. Even thought she had tow left so I made a soomthie out of trixs yogert.
I substituted carrot juice for the milk in my regular smoothie recipe and it turned out great!
I use a variety of fresh and/or frozen fruit in this recipe. Sometimes I use 1/2 C of frozen fruit and half a banana. I also vary the sweetener - sometimes I use maple syrup, agave nectar, or Splenda in place of the honey. Using the thick Greek yogurt results in a super-creamy smoothie.
The odd quantity is because I wanted to calculate the exact amount that fits in my thermos, 86 oz.
Spices can be varied and of course have no caloric impact.
The kind of tea I use does not appear in SparkPeople's food list: decaf loose Darjeeling. It's not easy to find but I don't want the caffeine and Darjeeling makes the kind of chai I'm used to. I guess any Indian, unflavored tea would work--use what you like best.
Ok ya I know, weird name but I was sick when I made this and was just thinking about what I could eat to help Kick the Cold but stay on track.
You can use all OJ if want to equal 2 cups but my teenagers had drank all mine but a cup so I raided my 5 yr olds juice LOL.
This will make 3 - 12oz servings

Homemade vanilla almond milk made with almonds, water, a vanilla bean, and stevia.
A thick, filling and sweet smoothie that works well for dessert (can be served in a bowl in place of sherbet) or for breakfast. The amount of honey used will depend on how sweet the papaya and apricots are.
Combine the recipe given here with 1 cup of macadamia nut milk (the ingredient list won't show my recipe for it as an option even though it is favorited, sorry). Makes a yummy mauve-pink smoothie that is very filling.
