Nutrition & Calorie Comments

As soon as I saw "8 servings" I knew it was not a good candidate. How many of us cook for 8? Then I looked at the nutritional info--230 calories for 1/2 cup and loaded with sugar. Much better, and easier, to have frozen yogurt or light ice cream.
Serving size is listed as 1/2 cup...not sure why so many think its 1/4 cup! I would certainly leave some of the sugar out though. Bu the idea of coconut, orange and cinnamon together sounds like well worth the calories...for special occasion dessert. We just don't "do" dessert regularly anyway!
Very confusing sine the video talks about another recipe.
I made it and it was way too sweet AND I had already halved the sugar.
This is CANDY rice. NOT a good recipe for sure.
1c Sugar to 1C Rice...and they don't even list the sugar in the nutrition! Corporate Sponsors should not try to peddle their product so blatantly, or if they must, at least aspire to create healthy recipes!
I haven't tried this but looking at the calories - 230.5 for only 1/2 cup?!! Yikes!! If you have the juice of 1 orange, do you actually need any sugar at all?
Two guesses- 1.) Uncle Ben's is a sponsor of SparkPeople, and 2.) Uncle Ben's doesn't care about our health. They want you to buy their product. Read with discretion, folks. With white rice and sugar, this isn't something anyone who is trying to live a healthy lifestyle should be eating regularly.
Wow...almost half of the calories come from the sugar.
Wow! That is a lot of sugar! making it with natural brown basmati rice and agave nectar to sweeten. Yes, the portion size is small.
It was very good, a nice change of taste. We only have non-fat milk and used a different sweetener, but very nice and I'll make again. My serving sizes are larger. Happy to save calories elsewhere in exchange for a nice treat.
Serving is way too small. It looks delicious but it's not different from any regular rice pudding recipe calorie wise for a REAL serving.
