Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I'm going to try this recipe tonight using a piece of Costco frozen salmon( 7oz and 340 Cal) and Cedar Tzatziki which is good and only 35 calories per 2 tbsp and 95mg sodium. St Joseph's flax, oat bran and wheat wraps( 80 cal) . A good portion meal and 455 calories!
This is a Spark Recipe? I agree with others: sodium way too high, and too many calories!
Far too many calories for a gyro. You can do similar with using 3 Tbsp of yogurt with the cucumber and spices for the sauce. Then mix the salmon with the other ingredients and put on a slice of ww bread. Leave open face and top with a lettuce leaf . Much lower in calories.
I won't be making this as the calories and sodium are too much to be a healthy choice
The tzatziki recipe is great. Waaaaaay too much sodium and carbs to work for me.
This looks good, but a lot of calories.
3 cups is lot of tzatziki. I wonder if this recipe includes all of the tzatziki. Nutrition totals may be skewed.
Interesting but I like lower calorie main dishes and lower sodium.
Too much sodium and high in calorie, but it tasted okay.
I may try this with grilled chicken. Will use gluten free tortillas instead of pita bread, should help with the sodium level. Sounds delicious!
Sounds delicious but with too many calories and sodium, I probably would not make this.
It is really high in Sodium. Salmon is good for you. So I would not use the can Salmon or package. But, fresh Salmon.
Sodium! Sodium! This is hardly a healthy meal! And it's got a good dose of calories. Thumbs down on this one.
way to many calories....find some way to lower....Gortons salmon is not that good
My husband and I thought these were delicious, with my changes.
I used wild caught salmon and Arnold's Pockets to save on calories. Used a lot more garlic and dill. Change up the olives and feta if you're watching sodium and add other veggies! Hubby said he didn't even think salmon was needed!
I didn't use Salmon, used Talapia and with the Sauce and a small salad, was really very good. No bread too much sodium for me.
Would like to try this with a fish that is not precooked. As written, there is WAY to much sodium. Thank you for the idea, Gorton's, but I won't be using your product for this.
I realize sponsors support this site but this recipe is a killer for anyone with sodium issues. It might be adapted to be more heart-healthy by using fresh salmon, etc. but it's pretty bad as written!
The recipe suggests Greek yogurt, but not in the list of nutrition calories.
The sodium is a bit high in this recipe. I would switch over to using fresh tuna instead. I am not allowed dairy on my food plan, so all of the cheese would have to go as well as the yogurt.
AT ALMOST 450 CALORIES FOR 3oz OF SALMON ON PITA? THIS IS NOT A CALORIE CONSCIOUS RECIPE. AND ALMOST 1000MG SALT? I WOULD EXPECT BETTER OPTIONS FOR SPARK PEOPLE...OR IS THIS JUST AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR GORTONS? NOTICE WHO SUBMITTED THIS RECIPE: "Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user GORTONS_SEAFOOD"
