Nutrition & Calorie Comments  

These were okay. I love whole grain stuff but these were a little gritty/grainy. They were better with some sugar free syrup.
I have made these before with a very similar recipe, that includes less applesauce and 1/4 cup of canola oil. I tried this one without the oil and they were great too and less fat. MMMM
These are the best waffles I have ever tasted. I didn't have wheat germ on hand so I subbed soy flour for that ingredient and cinnamon for the vanilla. A little extra protein doesn't hurt a vegetarian any! Anyway, they were delicious and I've made a load up in the freezer; they re-toast beautifully.
