Nutrition & Calorie Comments  

My Oma never used peppercorns, but 2-4 bay leaves in her Red Cabbage,so that is what I do also. My recipe is similar to this, except no peppercorn, but bay leaves. Be sure to remove bay leaves before serving. Oma used real sugar-Equal did not exist. I use raw sugar instead of Equal.
I used brown sugar instead of artificial sweetener. This was very good. Made my house smell like a good German restaurant instead of like...well, cabbage.
