Introduction

The natural and tasty guacamole that ANYONE loves! The natural and tasty guacamole that ANYONE loves!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 Avocados
    1 Small Onion (minced)
1 Clove Garlic (Or minced garlic from a jar)
1 Tbsp. Lemon or Lime Juice (optional)

Directions

Cut open avocados and scoop them out. Discard skin and pits. Use a fork or mixer to blend the avocados until smooth.

Next, add some minced onions and garlic to taste. Add a little lemon juice for an extra kick. Serve immediately with natural low-fat corn tortillas chips to keep the calorie count down. Enjoy!

*Note* I was not sure of that actual serving size so I had to estimate. The serving size for salsa is about 2 Tbsp. so I'm guessing that it would be around the same for this. I just wanted to share the recipe. :)

This is so close to my family recipe that I have only a couple of clarifications: ONLY HAAS avocados have the consistent taste and texture worthy of a great guacamole. Lime juice is not optional. Fresh juice is best, bottled juice in a pinch. The key is to use a pastry blender to mash it. - 6/12/11

Doesn't specify serving size. The 65 calories come from .17 portion of 1 avocado. That's like 1 Tbs. Unless you are using this as a spread you are likely to consume more. The batch is 700+ calories. The "tomatoes" folks have the right idea in cutting cals. I agree too much onion. - 10/27/12

I was looking for a guacamole recipe to get me by in a pinch and this worked well. Since i only had one lonely avocado, I used that along with 1/4 onion ( which is all I had). We also added a little salt to taste. This was awesome, buttery and paired well with our fajitas :)

Yummo! the hardest thing is to not eat the whole batch--luckily it's an easy recipe to half. Based on another comment, I cut the amount of onion by 1/2 and it was perfect. - 3/17/12

I make mine chunky, and I add tomato and DEFINITELY lime. A little ground pepper and it's good to go. - 2/15/12

I think one small onion is way too much, I would say with 2 avacados, you only need 1/2 tsp onion as to not overshadow the avacado taste. Will have to try again since the first try was a bit of an oniony disaster. - 2/6/10

This is how I make mine when I run out of fresh spices. The other alternative I like is to add a some finely chopped cilantro and basil (more or less depending on preferences) and a dash of black pepper. - 1/15/09

Just an idea: For those of you who are big on Guac - add some diced tomatoes & fresh cilantro! Gives it even more of a kick. I make it this way all the time! Yum - 1/31/08
