Ingredients
-
Ground beef, lean, 500 grams
Canned Tomatoes, 2 can
Celery, raw, 2 stalk, medium
Carrots, raw, 2 medium
Onions, raw, 2 medium
Garlic, 3 clove
Egg Lasagne, 300 gram(s)
Milk, 1%, 4 fl oz
Plain white flour (UK), 20 g
Butter, salted, 20 grams
Cheddar Cheese, 100 grams
1-2 Oxo cube (optional)
Generous splash Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
Chop all fresh vegetables and garlic in food processor.
Melt a small piece (approx 2-3g) in frying pan and add chopped vegetables.
Once onions have gone clear, add minced beef and fry until brown. Add the oxo cube while frying.
Drain off excess fat.
Add tinned tomatoes and worcestershire sauce and simmer for approx. 10 mins or until tomatoes have fallen.
In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter and add the flour.
Stir the mixture together and gradually add the milk. The sauce should be very thick to start with - just add milk until it's at the thickness you like.
Grab a casserole dish (a deep one). Put a small layer of white sauce in the bottom, then a layer of lasagne, a layer of tomato sauce and so on until you fill the dish or run out of tomato sauce. Finish with a layer of white sauce.
Grate the cheese and sprinkle liberally on top.
Shove in the oven (on a baking tray - if the cheese and white sauce end up on the floor of the oven its a NIGHTMARE to get off) for about 30-40mins.
