Ingredients

    1 tsp allspice
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. cayenne
    2 tsp. cumin
    1 tsp. ginger root powder
    1 tsp. marjoram
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. rosemary
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tbsp. olive oil (or other oil)
    4 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
    4 large stalks celery, chopped
    1/2 large onion, chopped
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 can (4 oz.) mushrooms
    2 2/3 c. frozen peas
    3 c. cooked northern beans (or other cooked bean)
    3 c. water or vegetable broth or chicken broth or beef broth.

Directions

Serves approximately 9 1/2 one cup servings.
Heat spices on medium heat for a few seconds before adding 2 tbsp. olive oil in heavy duty pot. Heat oil for a minute on medium high heat. Add garlic, celery, onions and saute for a few minutes on high. Lower heat to medium and cook onion mixture until onions clear and soft. Add peas , mushrooms, beans, molasses, and broth. Heat to boiling then lower heat to low and simmer uncovered until desired consistency.
