Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    For filling:
    10 medium apples peeled and sliced
    1/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 Tblsp Brown Sugar
    2 Tblsp Whole Wheat Flour

    For Topping:
    1/2 c. Quick oats
    1/2 c. Whole wheat flour
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    pinch of ground cloves
    1 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    2 Tblsp I can't believe it's not butter (stick) softened
    1/4 c. chopped walnuts


Directions

Peel and slice apples. Mix in all other filling ingredients and let sit for 15 minutes so juices begin to extract from apples. Pour into oval Corning Ware casserole dish.


In separate bowl combine all ingredients for topping. Stir well and sprinkle evenly over top of apple mixture.


Bake in preheated over at 325 degrees F for approximately 40 minutes.


Serve warm or reheated in microwave. Perfect topped with a dollop of fat free Cool Whip.
