Introduction

Taken from the Breadman Automatic Bread Maker Instruction Manual and Bread Guide (with a slight mod. to the amount of salt, sugar, and yeast). Also, the real recipe calls for bread flour, I just use regular white All-Purpose flour. Ingredients

    1& 1/8 cup water (80 degrees F. or 27 degrees C.)
    2 tsp. sugar
    3 tsp. salt
    3 cups flour
    2.5 tsp. active/instant dry yeast


Directions


1.)In respect to the order given here (typed), add the first 4 ingredients to the bread maker (no need to mix them, the machine will do it for you).

2.)Make a small well in the top of the flour in the bread machine and put your yeast in that well (so that it is not touching any water).

3.) Follow your machine directions to bake. (On mine, I set it to 1.5LB/BASIC/DARK)

4.) Let cool (mostly) before slicing. I cut mine in half and then slice it so that I get 16 nice, thick, satisfying slices. Also, it slices MUCH easier when you cut in in half first since bread made in a machine it always tall.

**NOTE** You can always add 1&1/2 tsp. of Caraway Seeds to give it a very mild rye flavor if you would like to!
