Introduction

Ingredients

3 cups - Bread flour (I use a mixture of 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 white)
2 tsp salt
1tsp brown sugar
1 packet of yeast (2-1/4 tsp)
14 oz of water or less, depending on moisture of dough
3 Tbs butter or lard
Tips
Very easy to make. I make weekly for our family. I double wrap in plastic wrap and double freezer bag it and leave it on the counter.
Directions
Mix flour, salt, and yeast well. Add part of water (make sure temp of water is between 110-120°) and mix. Add butter or lard. Add remaining water until dough is right texture. Kneed for 5 minutes or until silky. Lie flat and pat into rectangle shape and roll. Place seam down in well greased loaf pan and let rise for about 45 minutes. Then bake for 30 minutes at 400°F.
Serving Size: Makes 1 loaf approximately 18-20 slices.
