Introduction

Ingredients

    1 onion, chopped
    4 tsp garam masala
    pinch chili flakes
    1 1/2 cup red lentils, washed
    400 g. crushed tomatoes with juice
    500 ml vegetable stock
    1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped
    1/4 cup Sugar

Tips

The original recipe said you could serve with a bit of plain yogurt on top.


Directions

Put all of the ingredients (except the cilantro) into a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Once lentils are soft, add cilantro and cook about 1 minute longer. Use a stick blender and puree.
