Ingredients

    1/2 cup boiling water
    1/3 cup margarine or butter
    1/2 cup cold water
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 cake or pkg of yeast
    1/4 tsp salt
    4 cups all purpose flour

Tips

This recipe was given to me in high school by my home-ec teacher. Have never found another I like better. Great dough to make cinnamon rolls too.

Directions

Combine boiling water and fat in 1 bowl. In another bowl, combine cold water, beaten egg and sugar. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine all liquid ingredients together. Add flour and salt. Beat until smooth. Knead lightly. Place in a greased bowl: cover and place in refrigerator until ready to use (overnight). Make into rolls: let rise twice in volume in bulk, about 3 hours. Bake at 425 for 10 to 12 minutes
