Introduction
A healthy indulgence. Even though the recipe calls for 1 1/2 ounce of chocolate chips, you won't be able to use that much; some will be left in the bowl. So the calorie count is a little lower in actuality. A healthy indulgence. Ingredients
-
1. About 6 medium sized strawberries, or until you run out!
2. 1/2 tsp shortening (I use vegatarian shortening)
3. 1 1/2 ounces dairy free chocolate chips.
You can use regular shortening & semisweet chocolate chips if you want to.
Directions
1. Place the shortening and chocolate chips in a small glass or ceramic bowl. If the bowl is too large, it will be difficult to dunk your strawberries.
2. Microwave until melted. The time this takes (somewhere around 1-2 minutes) will vary from machine to machine, so it's important to check by mixing with a spoon every 30 seconds.
3. If the strawberries are long stemmed, you may be able to just dunk them. If not, you can use either a fork or a toothpick. Insert into the top of the berry, and swirl until covered in chocolate.
4. Place finished strawberries on wax paper to set. You can put them in the refrigerator to speed up the process. Enjoy, but these only stay good for about 1 day!
