    4 cups chicken broth (I use 99% fat free)
    4 tbs. butter or margarine ( I use light 50 cal/serving)
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    3/4 cup brown rice
    3/4 cup barley
    1 can (4-oz.) diced green chilies
    1/3 cup pine nuts, toasted
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

    **top with hot sauce (optional), very heart healthy and fights many types of cancer as noted above**

COMBINE chicken broth, butter and garlic in medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Add rice and barley; reduce heat to low. Cook for 40 to 45 minutes or until tender. Add chilies, pine nuts and cilantro. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Add salt and black ground pepper to taste.
